Nell Britton went to be with the Lord, Friday, February 9, 2018 in Rio Vista, Texas. Nell was born November 16, 1934 to George and Ethel Kiker in Grandview, Tx. She was also raised there.
She graduated Grandview High School in 1953, was crowned queen of Johnson County at the Alvarado Reunion in 1952 and was also Miss Lake Whitney in 1953. She worked as a secretary for life and casualty insurance companies in Fort Worth, TX until retiring to Yantis, TX on Lake Fork. Nell was an active member and secretary in the Lion’s club, a member of Mid Cities Bass Club, Bass and Gals, and Lake Fork Lady Anglers. She briefly held the large mouth black bass record on Lake Fork which she named Sunshine. She loved fishing, being outdoors, spending time with family, reading and poetry. Nell was always there to lend a helping hand. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her spouse, Billy Joe Britton, and her brother, Kenneth Neil Kiker. Those left to cherish her memory are brother, James Christopher Kiker; daughter, Cynthia (C J) Jane Gossett; son, Randy Dale Donoho; step sons, Bernie Lynn Shoemaker and Joe Tom Britton; step daughters, Janet Lee Stout and Melissa Birchfield; grandchildren, James Brandon Gossett and Brandi Noel Donoho; and numerous step grandchildren.
