David Moore, a loving husband, father and friend, took the hand of his Lord and entered the gates of Heaven, on Sunday, March 11. He was born June 21,1945 in Brownwood, to the late Rufus and Lucille Moore, and lived in Benbrook for over 40 years.
David worked as a court reporter in Tarrant and surrounding Counties for over 40 years. His gentle spirit and calming presence was felt in the courtrooms many, many times, by Judges, attorney’s, Bailiff’s, and others.
David was a Godly man and faithful member of the West Freeway Church of Christ in Fort Worth, and spent many years, first as a volunteer for the Benbrook Citizen’s on Patrol. He served as Director from 2007-2016. David’s loving and giving spirit, along with his gentle guidance, was evident in the lives of more that a dozen children that he and Molly fostered through the years.
Memorial Service will be held at West Freeway Church of Christ, on Thursday, March 15th at 2:00 PM. He will be interred at Greenwood Cemetery in Brownwood.
A second memorial will be held at the 4th and Stewart Street Church of Christ in Brownwood on April 15th.
David leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 44 years, Molly Moore, of Benbrook, Son: William Moore of Ardmore, OK., Sister: Dorthy Umberger of Washington, Nephews: Brian, Stan and Darryl Umberger, Niece: Cheryl Umberger, and children of his heart: Mallory Litchfield, Megan Puryear, and Jason Calhoun, along with dozens of other children, church family and many, many friends.
