Welcome to the memorial page for

Danny Joe Shipman

November 4, 1946 ~ July 16, 2017 (age 70)

Danny Joe Shipman Sr., entrepreneur, prognosticator, fabler and Master Bullshitter left this world on July 16, 2017. Danny Joe was a former police officer, truck driver and for the last 30 years, a successful businessman. He loved his family, the outdoors, rodeo, old westerns, animals (especially horses) and Lonesome Dove so much that all his dogs were named Gus, Woodrow or Deets . He was gruff as a bear and gentle as a lamb, mean as a snake and sweet as sugar and a loner that loved people. He was a contradiction in many ways but he was a solid rock for his wife, children and grandchildren. We could always count on him to find the answer to our problems and he did it in a way that made us believe the solution was our idea. He could never remember your name so you were always Bob to him but he was such a sincere and jovial storyteller that no one ever had the heart to correct him. He has left a void that can never be filled but we have many wonderful memories that will be cherished. There will be a celebration of his life at the Shipman residence in Alvarado, Texas on Saturday July 22, 2017 between the hours of 2 pm and 6 pm.
