Anita Turner Lara, 91, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in her Itasca home.
Anita was born on November 8, 1926 in Sebastian, Texas. She was the daughter of Luis and Tomasita Turner, who preceded her in death as well as her long-life husband Richard E. Lara and her beloved grandson Andy Robles.
She moved to Itasca at age of 18, years later married Richard Lara on April 12,1952 and has been a resident of Itasca ever since. She worked in Itasca at a sewing room until she retired. Anita loved to sew and make handmade crafts and gifts for her family and loved ones who affectionately referred to her as Nana. Nana was known as an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and sharing her recipes with her 6 children and many grandchildren. Her home was surrounded by a lovely garden which she herself tended to on an almost daily basis. She was an active and lively lady who enjoyed dancing as much now as she did when she was younger. She was known by many in and around Hill county. She will be greatly missed by all, she was able to touch many hearts in her lifetime. She was able to acomplish everything she dreamed of in her life.
Anita is survived by her children, Juanita Robles, Yolanda Saldierna and her husband Patricio, Rebecca Botello, Luis Suarez, Richard Lara Jr and his spouse Edna, and Ralph Lara and his spouse Jeanette; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous acquaintances kids that she loved dearly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
