Memorial services for Paula Gail Rayburn, 71, are scheduled for Monday, June 19, 2017 at 10:00am at Cedar Cross Country Church in Alvarado, Texas, under the direction of Clayton Kay-Vaughn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Clayton Kay-Vaughan funeral home in Alvarado, Texas. Paula Gail Rayburn passed from this life to the everlasting life with Jesus on June 15, 2017. She was born in Cleburne, Texas on May 22, 1946, to James Claude (Jim) Rayburne and Lillian Pauline (Hanks) Rayburne. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Adriana Alexander; her parents Jim and Pauline Rayburne; her brothers Henry Howard Rayburn and Michael Hanks Rayburne. She is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey Lee Alexander and wife Keille of Crowley, Texas; James Ivan (Jim) Alexander and wife Alma of Eloy, Arizona. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Sarah (Alexander) and Jeff Chen; Justin Alexander; Hunter Alexander; Noah Medford; Rustin and Kendra Jackson; Tadd and Cheryl Mendez; Anthony Lieffring; Paloma Lieffring and Jeff Fallus; and Jamie Lee Alexander. She leaves her great grandchildren: Liliana Rae Ortega; KatieLee Jin-Hung Chen; Antonio Mendez; Keegan Olivia Jackson; and one great grand-dog Tank. Paula Gail Rayburn leaves behind four dear sisters: Claudine and husband David Marion; Pat and husband Charles White; Debra Stroud; and Rhonda Forsythe. She also leaves behind one baby brother: Byron Pope Rayburne and wife Karen; one sister-in-law, Pamela Rayburn, wife of Michael Hanks Rayburne; many nieces and nephews; and hundreds of friends.
Ms. Rayburn graduated from Alvarado High School in 1964. She began her career at Rayburne Sand, Inc. She continued as a career counselor for the Texas Workforce Commission from 1985-2008. With her spiritual training along with her counseling experience the Lord led her into many endeavors: Ministry of Prayer, World Outreach, and Peach Orchard Park Restoration Project. Peach Orchard Park is a local plan for housing and assistance in the lives of people in need.
