James Ray Clement, 80, of Alvarado, TX, passed away, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Heritage Trails Nursing Home, in Cleburne, TX.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 13 at Clayton Kay Vaughan Funeral Home, 200 E. Patton Ave., Alvarado, TX 76009, Kent Sparks will be officiating. Ceremony will be followed at celebration of life, at La Quinta Inn & Suites, 1165 US-67, Alvarado, TX 76009. Food and drinks will be provided.
James was born April 2, 1937 in Munday, TX to Selma and Juanita (Susie) Clement. He graduated from Hollis High School in 1955. James was employed as a fire captain with the Carrollton Fire Department, fire chief with the Addison Fire Department, and was retired from the City of Mansfield’s parks and recreation department. He enjoyed playing golf, working with buddy ball players and bowling. He also spending time with his children and grandchildren.
James is survived by his two sons, Eric Allen Clement and his wife Sherri of Argyle, TX, Dale Clement, and three daughters, Sharon Ryan and her husband Tony of Flower Mound, TX, Terri Fulton and her husband Mike of Alvarado, TX and Jamie Calhoun and husband Craig, of Colorado Springs, CO and adopted member of the family Dane Francis and wife Cheryl of Mansfield, TX; 25 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren, his brothers Dwayne Clement and his wife Sue and Johnny Clement and his wife Jody, his sister Wilma Ellis, his sister-in-law Patsy Clement, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Juanita (Susie), and his brother Don Clement in 2010.
