Billy J. Spivey, 79, a loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at his home in Alvarado, Texas.

Billy Joe Spivey was born May 17, 1938 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lillie Mae Green and Ward Wilbert Spivey. He later met Betty Ethel Johnston, they got  married July 16, 1965 at The Valley Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. Billy J was a member of The First Bible Baptist Church in Kennedale. He loved to hunt for diamonds in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, there he found 2 and was most proud of the .67 carat diamond.  Billy J’s most enjoyable time was cast iron cooking for his kids.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Spivey; and grandson, Collin Marshall.

Survivors:  Wife of 52 years Betty Spivey of Alvarado; sons, Michael Joe Spivey of Alabama, Chris Spivey and wife Donna of Burleson, Randy Spivey and wife, Rebecca of Alvarado; daughters, Lisa Kay Henderson and husband, Jerry of Alvarado, Tracey Denise Estill and husband, Phillip of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Spivey and his wife, Pam of Alvarado, Bobby Spivey and his wife, Marie of Alvarado; sister, Janet Swartz and husband, Roy of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
